Labour has resurrected plans for a 15 per cent “death tax” to pay for people’s care in old age.
Andy Burnham, the shadow health secretary, said he wants Labour to “embrace” a system where social care is funded by imposing a tax on estates when people die.
Labour abandoned plans for a 10 per cent levy on estates to pay for social care before the 2010 general election following a wave of criticism.
However, at the Fabians Summer Conference in June, Mr Burnham said he was personally in favour of a new tax on estates.

Labour as ever thinking that the solution for anything is a tax grab. The never think cost savings, they never think ridding themselves of inessential services though to be honest their idea of inessential is not the same as anyone else's, they see cuts in bin collections and streetlighting as positives, rather than translation services and aid to minorities/gender/sexual preference groups.
But if Labour are bad, what the Tories are up too is even worse...

HMRC was accused yesterday of taking ‘a smash and grab’ approach with its demand for new powers to seize money directly from people’s bank accounts.
Britain’s leading tax experts warned the taxman risks being ‘unconstitutional’ with the controversial plans, which could come into force within months.
The proposed new powers - which were published in the Budget and subject to a public consultation which closed yesterday - have triggered an outcry among tax experts.
If HMRC believes anyone owes money to them, they will be able to take the cash directly from current accounts, joint accounts or tax-free Isas to settle an unpaid tax bill.
Around 17,000 people a year will have money seized under the proposed new powers, known as the ‘direct recovery of debts’. Each will typically owe £5,800.

Note the key word 'believe' you may well be innocent, there may be a mistake, but if HMRC 'believe' you owe them over £1,000 then they have the option to raid your account, possibly impoverish you, perhaps get you crucified by bank charges and walk away in their mask and striped jersey laughing at your misfortune and knowing that the person who authorised it will not pay the consequences if there is a mistake.

I rarely comment on things abroad, if I do it's usually that we mind our own business and not get involved. In particular I usually avoid comment about the situation in Israel because I have my views and other people theirs and it's not worth the effort to try and deal with them. Yet as ever the trouble over there has a tendency to translate itself over here if only because the left and islamists have forged an unholy alliance over Israel and their desire to see it wiped from the face of the Earth. Hence unlike islamophobia which appears to be cases of muslims feeling victimised, there has been a rise in anti-semitism which in this case means attacks on the Jewish people living here.

 Wonderful is it not? Just a few reasons why we should never have allowed islam to take root in this country nor allow its pernicious influence any headway in a supposedly civilised country. Essentially these people are in group form a bunch of savages aided and abetted by the moronic left and various groups who call themselves right wing, but are basically nothing of the sort simply authoritarian racists. Sure the left have tried to define the language to the extent that they claim it's anti-zionism not anti-semitism hatred of Isael not Jews, but I'm pretty sure the article above isn't to do with Israel, not really, it's always been about the Jews, language sophistication or not. With the left it's down to Israel's support by America, they still haven't got over the death of the Soviet Union. With muslims it's because they hate everyone who isn't a muslim but espescially Jews who were given a country they felt was theirs and had the temerity to hold it despite 5 invasions by Arab forces and the utter humiliation the Israelis piled upon their pride.
Yes I have my views and my take is the enemy of my enemy etc. But, they should not be bringing these troubles over here and behaving like barbarians. If they want to peacefully protest fine, but both my grandfathers fought Hitler's armies one was at the liberation of Belsen. That muslims believe Hitler was right or didn't go far enough is just another reason in my eyes why they cannot remain here.

Following on yesterdays post it appears that the leftard conspiracy of silence over the attempt by hardline islamists to turn schools into education centres for the brainwashing of muslim kids whilst alienating any others who came along and treating them like scum. Now those teachers who were forced out are being encouraged to sue the Council and its education Dept...

TEACHERS forced out of schools at the centre of the “Trojan horse” allegations in Birmingham could sue the council for failing in its “duty of care” towards them, an MP claims.
At least 12 senior staff, mostly heads, were banned from speaking out as part of their six-figure payoffs. Some say they were bullied, intimidated and threatened over extremists’ attempts to target state schools in the city.
Now Labour MP Khalid Mahmood claims the teachers deserve compens­ation after a report criticised Birmingham City Council’s poor protection for whistleblowers.
The report by independent adviser Ian Kershaw, published on Friday, was commissioned by the council following concerns raised in a letter of 2013, known as the “Trojan horse” letter. It suggested a number of schools had been “taken over” to ensure they were run on Islamic principles.
According to the report, the council “disastrously” failed to act when a group of Muslim men began to promote, sometimes illegally, a fundamentalist version of Islam in some schools, because officials were afraid of being accused of racism or Islamophobia.
Mr Mahmood told the Sunday Express: “There was a significant failure in the rights of individuals who needed the protection of their employer and wanted support with the very ­difficult issues they were facing.

Well I bet the council tax payers in Birmingham are going to love that and no doubt if the payouts are huge the UK taxpayer will have to step in and bail them out all because of 'community cohesion' and the lunatic thinking behind it. The political left has given the entire country a poisonous legacy of imbecilic laws and authorities who are either enablers of islam through fear of it because in their blinkered outlook criticism of it automatically equals racism (despite islam not being a race) or because they genuinely believe that muslims cannot do any wrong besides they also hate Israel as all proper thinking leftards do and the enemy of my enemy etc...
The Council's Education Dept has of course not helped with its Orwellian gagging orders on dismissed staff who were hounded out of their jobs. Indeed the originally Trojan letter probably came from one of these staff and was at first dismissed by leftards in the BBC and Grauniad as a forgery and a hoax, practically right up to the last moment when the report came out and demonstrated that the letter was quite likely a forgery, but not a hoax and the meddling of hard line islamics in schools was very, very real.
This I think is going to run and run...

This is why our society will fall one day

Islam, the biggest problem facing the civilised world today and a protected species in the UK as successive governments and the legions of libtards and leftards moved to place it beyond criticism and investigation, even to the extent as West Midlands Police did to prosecute a documentary maker (Channel 4) when they filmed Undercover Mosque rather than deal with the real problems the program unearthed. Then their were the grooming scandals where Social services departments went out of their way to blame the girls for having the misfortune to come into contact with predatory muslim males and their misogynistic all non-muslim women are whores for our use attitude and who covered up the scandal with police connivance for years. We have the burning of poppies which gets you a £150 fine for the perpetrator coupled with 12 months imprisonment for putting bacon on a mosque door handle for a Scottish man, dual standards if ever there were.. There are other scandals, Lee Rigby, Kris Donald and Charlene Downes, to name but a few and now of course we have the Trojan Horse scandal in our schools...

Children were taught that all Christians are liars and attempts were made to introduce Sharia law in classrooms as part of an alleged 'Trojan Horse' takeover plot of Birmingham schools, an inquiry has found.
The inquiry commissioned by Birmingham City Council found evidence of religious extremism in 13 schools as school governors and teachers tried to promote and enforce radical Islamic values.
Schools put up posters warning children that if they didn't pray they would "go to hell", Christmas was cancelled and girls were taught that women who refused to have sex with their husbands would be "punished" by angels "from dusk to dawn".
The report found that the extremism went unchecked because the council "disastrously" prioritised community cohesion over "doing what is right".
It concluded that there was a "determined effort" by "manipulative" governors to introduce "unacceptable" practices, "undermine" head teachers and deny students a broad and balanced education.

Ah yes, community cohesion a term loved by leftards and libtards as it enables them to ignore the excesses of islam and concentrate on the racism of 'ol whitey' if he even looks at them funny. yet even now there are those out there who tried to deny that the report was in some way compromised. Yet teachers were persecuted, hounded and bullied because they were not Muslim and many in the media (yes Guardian and Independent we're looking at you) tried to convince people that this was racially motivated islamophobia and that nothing really worthy of inspection was going on. Even yesterday BBC radio chose to frame the reports by running this as the headline: Birmingham City Council's report found no evidence of a "conspiracy" to promote "violent extremism or radicalisation" values. They've strangely changed their tune today.
The British people have been betrayed by successive governments and the sycophantic followers of left wing dogma to the stage where I doubt society can be fixed any more, they're simply too well dug in. Couple this with the EU and uncontrolled immigration then you can probably guess where the country will be in about twenty years time.
I'd be amazed if we don't have a full blown civil war on our hands.

Paying for their mistakes

To paraphrase Margaret Thatcher, socialism only works till someone else's money runs out. In our case it was the previous Labour government spending like there was no tomorrow as in a politicians eyes, no tomorrow means after the next election. What they did was borrow and kept on borrowing past the bounds of sanity to bloat the public sector and give jobs for the boys by allowing senior executive posts at hugely inflated wages to spring up all over the country.

Future generations will have to work longer to pay off Britain's debts because of the pressure that Britain's ageing population is putting on public finances, the independent financial watchdog has warned.
The Office for Budget Responsibility said that Coalition policies such as raising the state pension age and further cuts will reduce Britain's debt as a proportion of national income by two thirds.
It found that without the measures, Britain's debt would be £1.14 trillion higher in the next 50 years as the economy struggles to cope with an huge rise in the number of pensioners and the decline in the number of people working.

Yes we have an ageing population, but we aren't helping by being in the EU and having mass uncontrolled immigration either taking jobs from locals and adding to the states spending on benefits. Unfortunately Labour with the idiocy known as quantitative easing pumped masses of cash into the economy by printing money, sold off the family silver (literally in Gordon Brown's case) and mortgaged us to the hilt before we could get rid of the incompetent rats. This all naturally has to be paid back and the result is a probable rise in retirement age and the current unrest in the public sector as pay restraint and reality comes home to roost in the way that their gold plated pensions are now under serious threat.
The thing that gets me though is that despite all this there are some people who will still vote for Labour despite them bolixxing up the economy every time they gain power. Not that I'm a great fan of the Tories either and generally have nothing but contempt for the Lib Dems. Still with the Tories at least they kept the economy working if only to cream a bit off for themselves later on via directorships, they usually didn't take the damned country down with them.
Future generations will be paying off Labours 'mistakes' long after we're all gone, they'll work longer and probably not enjoy their retirement at all.
That is socialism for you in a nutshell.

Whatever happened to brightest and best?

Labour wrecked the university system we had in this country and generally have been a negating factor in education from without and within via the leftist leaning unions with their 'all must win' philosophies and emphasis on dragging all down to the lowest common denominator. They've even used left leaning think tanks to undermine the education system and make suggestions which frankly do not make sense if we wish our schools and universities to produce the best in educated pupils and scholars.

Universities should drop their entry requirements for pupils from state comprehensives to prevent them missing out on sought-after degree courses, according to research published by the Department for Education.
Teenagers should be admitted to university with lower grades than peers from the private sector to close the gap between state and fee-paying schools, it was claimed.
The study, by the Institute for Fiscal Studies and Warwick University, said performance in GCSEs had the biggest bearing on pupils’ chances of gaining good A-levels and getting in to top universities.
Millions of pounds spent by universities each year to “widen participation” in higher education should be focused on pupils aged 14-to-16 to push them towards degree courses, it said.
But the research warned that the sheer gulf in standards between comprehensives and academically-selective state or private schools was so vast that more drastic measures were needed.

So rather than tackle the real problem of failing state schools the leftard solution is to reduce the entry requirements for failing schools at top universities.
Truly idiotic is it not?
It does not seem to have occurred to anyone making this report (or perhaps it has and it's all part of the plan) that allowing more poorly educated pupils into university doesn't help them, the university, nor the ones who've really earned a place there. If you go in with a lower standard you've got to be brought up to the required standard for one thing and so several will find themselves dropping out because they cannot cope with the far more rigorous requirements that universities need in order to get a degree in a subject that actually means something.
Education has been wrecked by the so called progressives in this country who demanded an everyone wins formulae to make the system look like year on year things were getting better despite the obvious reality that things weren't and we were producing an underclass to whom reading and basic maths was a foreign concept. It was then taken further to try and force higher education to expand and take on pupils who were manifestly ill equipped to cope with the rigours required in studying at that level.
So now we come to another biggie, lower your standards to let the ill educated in so all can win prizes...
You'd struggle to make it up wouldn't you?

And whose fault is it that we have extremists?

The gall of the left when it comes to blaming someone for the problems they originally caused knows no bounds. Currently they are using the BBC with whom they march hand in hand to lambaste the government for failing to deal with extremism properly...

Labour is to accuse the government of a "serious failure" to deal with the threat of extremism, in the wake of a row between two cabinet ministers.
Yvette Cooper will claim departments have failed to work together and anti-radicalisation funding has been cut.
David Cameron has vowed to get to the bottom of a spat between Theresa May and Michael Gove over the issue.
But Ms Cooper will say this is "missing the point" and there is no proper strategy for schools and communities.
Differences of opinion between the home secretary and education secretary, both seen as potential future Tory leaders, about how to deal with Islamic extremism were laid bare in a public row.

This would be the same Labour who allowed uncontrolled immigration of groups known to contain extremists, who pandered to their desires for segregation and who ignored all the warning signs as they worshipped at the altars of the deviant and false doctrines of diversity and multiculturalism and enabled the extremists via the odious Human Rights Act.
In essence Labour and the moronic left are to blame the government for failing to clear up their mess.
Hypocrisy writ large is it not?
Granted the government have simply carried on with their head in the sand over the activities of the islamoloons amongst us and haven't dealt effectively with those who mean us no good at all, some of this is institutional (the leftards in the bureaucracy), some due to 'human rights' constraints, some due to the utter unwillingness of idiots like Cameron to admit that islam is incompatible with civilised values.
However as much as Labour would like to deny it, they were the ones who brought the problems to our shores, not the current government. The row between Gove and May is a simple spat, he wants a hard line attitude, she can't as the HRA prevents it so Labour are attempting to take advantage of it.
Labours solution?

Ms Cooper will say the government needs to work more closely with community leaders, councils, faith groups and other bodies to hammer home the dangers of radicalisation.

Because that's worked ever so well in the past, hasn't it? Some community leaders are hard line radicals anyway and some faith groups harbour them.

The Home Office is responsible for dealing with illegal immigration, unfortunately due to previous wishy washy legislation, the Human Rights Act and the indolence and corruption of the Borders Agency and its leadership it faces an uphill task. A Whitehall mole has sabotaged hundreds of raids against immigrants working illegally in Britain by leaking sensitive government documents to activists, it was claimed last night.
Small businesses suspected of illicitly employing foreigners were tipped off after a radical protest group was covertly handed the hit-list.
The Home Office launched a two-week crackdown – codenamed Operation Centurion – to target workplaces, including care homes, hotels and restaurants and construction sites that were believed to be employing illegal immigrants.
But the Anti Raids Network, a left-wing pressure group, said it had warned the companies to expect officials to bang on the door after being passed the paperwork by the mole, Channel 4 News claimed.
The leak threatens to scupper the crackdown by allowing illegal workers to escape capture. The Anti Raids Network said it was justified because the swoops were ‘racially-profiled and unfair’ – a claim the Home Office said was ‘abhorrent and completely without foundation.’ It said the raids were ‘intelligence-led’.

One can only presume the dearth of actual intellect in a leftard group who believe that going after illegal immigrants is racist as by definition they will be of another race/nation/culture/religion to which the current definition of racist  seems to cover like a wet blanket. Generally illegals are economic migrants and work under the radar of the system for slave wages and do not contribute generally to the economy save in the area of VAT on sales of whatever they produce for their employer. They don't pay tax, they leech off the system in general and take jobs from those who actually are entitled to them. Naturally leftards love them as they in a very small way destroy trust in the system by their presence though how the moronic left justify the profits made by an employer indulging in employing illegals demonstrates hypocrisy of the highest order.
Unfortunately the civil service is rife with people who lean to the left in extreme ways they constantly sabotage government programs and their unions are amongst the most hard core militants of the TUC and who use their membership to rob the public via the taxpayer to pay for benefits the private sector workforce can only dream of.
That some are traitors to their country is a given, it's what the left do...

Aiding the recovery

Only an utter lunatic, leftard or EUphile will believe that picking peoples pockets by way of taxation will aid the recovery. By taking more away from us they believe the government will assist growth by spending it on projects they believe will be popular.

Brussels has infuriated ministers with a provocative series of proposals to boost economic growth in Britain – including higher taxes, new levies on expensive homes, and more free childcare.
The European Commission acknowledged the UK economy had roared back to life over the past year, but warned of ‘imbalances’ that required action from the Treasury.
In an assessment of the state of the main EU economies, the Commission identified ‘risks in the housing sector’ as a problem for the UK and backed calls from other international organisations for the state’s Help to Buy scheme to be reined in.

Considering that the UK's recovery even if a lot of us haven't noticed is racing away from our EU rivals you'd almost suspect that the EU was trying to trip us up to help said rivals regain some ground. It's the typical solution of the leftards though, the magic money tree economics that caused the recession to be even worse than it actually had to be by pumping masses of cash via quantitative easing into the economy only to cause problems with inflation and see no measurable results by the use of it either, other than saddling the taxpayer with enough debt to cause our great grandchildren to be in hock up to their eyeballs.
The UK electors rejected EU meddling in the last election even if the biggest winner was the can't be arsed to vote party. You'd suspect they'd try to keep their heads down for a while, well you might, but the hubris of those idiots knows no bounds. As far as they are concerned, they know best and the rest of us have to simply do as they say, or that's the plan and always has been...

Labour’s favourite think-tank (the Institute for Public Policy Research) has declared a new war on the motorist with draconian Big Brother pay-as-you-drive tax plans to force middle class drivers to pay more per mile to drive their cars than poorer ones.
Spy-in-the-cab black box technology would be used to track each car’s mileage by GPS satellite and to calculate the tax charge every time the driver fills up at the garage to encourage ‘behaviour change.’
It says the Government’s Driver and Vehicle Licencing Agency (DVLA) should be linked to HM Revenue and Customs records so that drivers could be charged automatically according to their income level – with wealthier motorists paying more.

Where the hell do you start? Talk about a target rich environment...
First they assume that a spy in the cab will actually be popular, which it only would be if it reduced the cost of motoring (anyone want to take a bet on that?) rather than keep the revenue stream to the Inland revenue going.
Secondly the assumption that anyone on a higher income actually has spare cash floating around, some do, some don't yet they'd trust the taxman's data to presume that  some people should pay extra.
'Encourage behaviour change' has echoes of the old Soviet tactic of sticking you in a gulag for twenty or so years in order to encourage you to respect the state a little more. Essentially I suspect that means they want to force you out of your car (whether you need it or not) and onto public transport whether it goes to your destination or not.
Truly this stems from the politics of envy where those who have worked hard to get a good job are being penalised to provide for everyone else simply because they are doing well. Oddly enough it was Labour who introduced a graduated road tax which oddly enough penalised the less well off who drive older less efficient cars, now they are going after the better off and somehow believe they'll take the rest of us with them...
Oh the Tories took the lead for the first time in an opinion poll yesterday... can't think why.

Sick in the head

The wilful evil of some of those on the left knows no bounds, they are so convinced that what they believe is right that no underhand or disgustingly barbaric act cannot be justified in their twisted little world. They in the form of the UAF (Unite all fascists?) and their political masters the Socialist Workers Party (google sex scandals to see how bad they are) have in the past aligned themselves with child molesters, paedophiles, murderers, rapists, thieves, have tried to shut down debate by violence and generally made a mockery of civilised behaviour in the UK.
At the moment though the cause celebre of the left is Ukip and the evil little scrotes have come up with a wizard wheeze to get at the political party they despise...

Ukip has been forced to scrap a freepost address - after receiving packages containing blood and faeces.
Nigel Farage's anti-EU party, which is currently leading the polls for the European elections later this month, has been inundated with packages from hostile voters.
The party used a freepost address on a leaflet for a campaign in Norwich in 2010 in a bid to drum up support.
On Twitter the local party posted a memo which read: 'You may be aware that there have been incidents of inappropriate mail items being sent to a UKIP Freepost address.
'This includes items which are prohibited (such as blood/human faeces) and present a health and safety risk both to you and our Royal Mail colleagues.

Now whilst I have no problem with Ukip shooting themselves in the foot by using a freepost address and getting bulky items and junk mail sent to it, you have to draw the line at biohazards. Only the truly sick of mind would do something like this endangering not only the letter openers, but those handling the letters and parcels as well.
Yes I'm blaming the left, the twitter trail suggests its them playing sick games rather than disgruntled Tories and it fits with the sort of spoiled brat mentality that they never seem to grow out of.
Yet the weird thing is, all the muck they throw (and apparently send) at Ukip only seems to increase their popularity, you'd think they'd learn. Though as this is the left we're talking about, they probably never will, their world is fixed with absolutes and anyone outside the vision they have is incomprehensible to them and needs to be dealt with, violently if necessary.
Still, at least they'll get a good drubbing in the Euro elections, not that it will stop their little activities, but it will give most of the UK an opportunity to let the left know what they think of their stupid little games. (as well as kicking the EUphiles in the nuts)

David Cameron has promised he will make sure an EU referendum takes place according to the BBC, clearly a case of big words from a little man running scared of Ukip prior to the EU elections. With Ukip running high in the polls at the moment because of the elections coming up and being seen as a protest vote against the current coagulation by those who cannot bring themselves to vote for the Millipede's party Cameron has decided to promise something he cannot deliver unless he's the Prime Minister after the next General Election.

David Cameron is to promise to "make sure" UK voters get a referendum on whether to leave the European Union.
Launching the Conservatives' campaign for the local elections taking place later this month, the prime minister will argue that this is a "fundamental principle" for his party.
Mr Cameron will say Labour "won't" deliver a referendum and UKIP "can't".
He will also argue that he has a record of "standing up" to Brussels over eurozone bailouts and EU budgets.
Councils in many parts of England will be holding polls on 22 May in England, the same day as elections for the European Parliament.
Mr Cameron, who is keen to prevent a surge in votes for UKIP - which campaigns for a withdrawal from the EU - will discuss the subject when he addresses Tory activists in the Midlands.

Weasel words as the next Parliament cannot be bound by the decisions of the previous one and currently Cameron is unlikely to be Prime Minister after the next election so this is an empty promise which looks good on paper but is essentially undeliverable unless he wins. Hence there is no 'will' make sure at all, simply a statement of what he 'might' do as we all know what a politicians promises are worth, particularly Cameron with regards to his beloved EU.
So running scared of Ukip are the establishment that amidst the smears there were some clues as to how the powers that be actually regard some of us...

UKIP voters need to be "educated" about the "lies" and "xenophobia" of Nigel Farage's party, Labour's former European Parliament leader has claimed.
Glyn Ford, who led the Labour group in Brussels from 1989 to 1993, believes pro-Europeans can "blunt" Mr Farage's victory in May's European election but only if they "reclaim" the EU issue.
His comments come in a special report written for left-wing think tank the Centre for Labour and Social Studies entitled "How can the European left deal with the threat posed by xenophobia?"
Speaking to Express.co.uk, Mr Ford was asked if he considered Mr Farage to be xenophobic.
"Yes, I do," he replied.
"He's not the worst, the nasty people are the ones who are trailing behind him."
He added: "Ukip are the BNP without the bother. They don't have a violent streak."

In the end I doubt Ukip can win an election, but they certainly can upset the apple cart to an extent that Cameron can make a promise he's unlikely to keep and Glynn Ford can tell us all that we need to be 'educated' because we don't share their vision of the future.

In one of his first decisions as chancellor, Gordon Brown scrapped tax relief on pension firms’ dividends.
The move is blamed for wrecking a once thriving industry and fuelling the closure of many final salary schemes.
Analysis by the Office for Budget Responsibility shows it has saved the Treasury almost £7billion a year – £2billion more than Mr Brown had expected.
The annual gain is expected to top £9.7billion this year with £117.9billion saved between 1997 and 2014.
The OBR quietly published the figures on its website this week.
Ros Altmann, a former Downing Street pension adviser, said Labour’s move marked ‘the beginning of the end of the gold standard pension that British workers could rely on from their boss’.
She added: ‘This is money that has come out of people’s pensions. It paved the way for the end of final salary schemes because it made them so much more expensive. They were suddenly unaffordable.’

Well it certainly wasn't news to me and I doubt it was news to anyone else who took an interest in Labours wrecking of the UK's economy by reckless spending and borrowing. Not that the present government have done anything to change this, although I rather suspect they now need that income to pay off Labours other debts. What happened was basically Labour saw spare cash and grabbed it, didn't care for the consequences as anyone who could afford one of those schemes obviously wasn't going to vote for them (probably) So being typically socialist they took from the rich and not so rich and squandered it on grandiose projects and wrecked the countries economy until at the end all was left was a note telling the next government that the money had run out.
Now they tell us that idiots out there might just vote them back in to form the next government. Truly some people must be utter morons.
The pensions industry has adapted of course, you can still get a reasonable deal if you shop around, but final pension schemes that would have kept many happy in their declining years have gone the journey save of course in the union dominated public services who use their muscle to keep the schemes they have at the expense of the taxpayer a sort of double whammy, thank you Labour.
This is one of the reasons I hate the left with a vengeance, they simply don't have a clue about economics, it's all take, take, take, spend, spend, spend and then leave someone else to clean up their mess whilst they bitch about the measures needed.

Apparently the BBC's choice of economic specialist, the ex TUC member who is expected to be unbiased of the Tories economic plans had a dalliance with Fascism and the BNP when he was younger. Some people are bigging this up as if it means he was a right winger at some stage...

But Duncan Weldon has admitted that he once had a brief, “witless” dalliance with fascism, having been an admirer of Oswald Mosley when he was a boy.
As a 19-year-old student, he wrote an article for his university newspaper headlined “I was a fascist”, in which he described attending British National Party meetings and taking part in a “violent” demonstration against asylum seekers.
Writing under the pseudonym Sam Healey in the Oxford University student newspaper Cherwell in 2002, he wrote that after attending several BNP meetings: “I was starting to consider myself a Fascist – a patriot – one of the few who understood that in order to regain what we once had, we may have to take distasteful methods.”

Of course the Telegraph fails to mention that Fascism is actually a left wing creed developed by Benito Mussolini from his Marxist roots. The average leftard takes their roots from the various strands of 'international' socialism and the 'we are all brothers' style evinced by that fractured splintered movement. Fascism is a 'national' socialism which places the nation or nationality of its proponents first and foremost. But both are basically of the left and some of their policies you couldn't get a fag paper between.
So when I'm told that someone on the left had a flirtation with Fascism, I'm not terribly surprised, the only reason Fascism has a bad name is because it's proponents lost WW2 and no, Fascism should not be mistaken for Nazism another left wing creed as the two are distinctly different.
That Duncan Weldon went from Fascism to bog standard socialism is no surprise at all, it wasn't that much of a leap.

A SUDANESE rapist who preyed on girls as young as 13 is suing Justice Secretary Chris Grayling over “frustration and anxiety” caused by a delay to his parole hearing.
Adil Aboulkadir, 38, was jailed for a minimum of four years for his part in the abuse of three vulnerable girls.
He was said to have led a gang of five Darfur refugees who groomed victims aged 14 and 13 in Dartford, Kent.
Aboulkadir had already launched a series of taxpayer-funded ­legal actions which could cost Britain more than £250,000 and block moves to deport him for years.
Now he wants damages, saying his human rights were violated because he had to wait seven months for a court date to argue for his freedom.
Taxpayers paid £125,000 for a legally-aided lawyer and ­interpreter during the gang’s trial at Maidstone Crown Court in 2008. Aboulkadir was convicted of rape and sexual ­activity with a child. But he convinced the High Court that his rights were “arguably” violated by a failure to consider release immediately his minimum jail term ended.
He was freed 16 months ­after the four-year tariff expired. Since 2013 he has been in an immigration centre, fighting a bid to deport him.

Any sane system would have had him deported the second he left prison, any decent system would have had the child rapist take a bullet in the back of the head the moment he was found guilty of his rape jihad. But no, our system gives the monster a chance at milking the taxpayer because the system hurt his feelings by taking too long.
This man should never have been allowed into the UK, he should not have been allowed to remain, but the lunacy that is the HRA which the government won't remove so in love with the EU that it is gives this scum the chance to stay here and possibly be a risk to other children.

A question of balance

The BBC is always telling us that it has to show balance in its reporting, believing that somehow if it gets complains about bias from both sides of an issue then it has struck that balance. Truth it has to be said not featuring in their quest for balance. Over the years though it has become increasingly obvious that what the BBC perceives as the middle ground is somewhat to the left of what most people believe is the middle ground hence the BBC's often uncritical view of what the Labour Party says or does. By staffing itself with left wingers, the BBC's bias became almost a self fulfilling prophecy...

A new row about alleged BBC bias has broken out after one of the corporation’s flagship news programmes hired a union official to report on the economy.
The BBC’s Newsnight programme announced on Friday that it had appointed Duncan Weldon, as the programme’s Economics Correspondent.
Mr Weldon was until recently the senior economist at the Trades Union Congress. He also used to work for Harriet Harman, Labour’s deputy leader and wrote a blog.
The announcement was made on Twitter, the social media networking site, by Ian Katz, the programme’s editor and a former deputy editor ofThe Guardian.
Mr Katz described Mr Weldon as “one of most exciting and original economic thinkers around”. Mr Weldon replied: “A huge thank you to everyone for their congratulations. I'm pretty excited & looking forward to getting started.”
But the Conservative party said it was outraged by the appointment which it sees as further evidence of Labour bias at the corporation.
Officials are still fuming after the corporation appointed James Purnell, a Labour Cabinet minister under Gordon Brown, as its director of strategy and digital last year.
One Tory source said: “Arthur Scargill or Len McCluskey would have been a more objective appointment. This is a ‘Grade A’ BBC stitch up.”

It's a bit like going to a communist for an objective overview of the capitalist system really. You can hardly expect a balanced view from a man who has based his ethos on what passes for socialist economics (the type of economics that doesn't work after the money runs out)
If you really want to see what a real economist with an actual grasp of reality as opposed to wishful thinking thinks I suggest reading Tim Worstall in the side column of this blog, particularly the labels marked ragging on Richie in which he regularly takes to task a left wing economist.
If the BBC wish to avoid accusations of bias (something they don't seem too) then choosing a trades union representative, to comment on the economy as run by the Tories (more or less) does not seem to be the way to do it.
You'd think that getting someone in to report on the economy you'd choose someone who is markedly neutral with regards to politics.
That the BBC have chosen otherwise tells you all you need to know about them.

One of the signs of a failing state is the government funding its own activities via the public sector to the detriment of the private sector (the part that actually generates income) so despite a so called wage freeze it comes as no surprise to discover that the public sector still is growing and on average earns 15% more than an equivalent job in the private sector (not to mention the pension and job security perks)
Still the figures from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) were seized upon by the TUC as proof that the public sector earns less than the private sector.

PUBLIC sector workers still earn more than private sector staff – despite three years of austerity-driven wage restraint, official figures showed yesterday.
On average, state-paid workers get nearly 15 per cent more pay, according to the Office for National Statistics.
The ONS based its data on its Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings, which looks at one per cent of all tax returns.
Its calculations did not factor in the self-employed, overtime pay, pensions, company cars or health insurance.
On average, public sector workers in 2013 were paid £16.28 an hour – 14.5 per cent higher than the private company average of £14.16.
Comparing median pay – the middle range of pay rates being sampled – public sector workers got 35 per cent, or £3.67 an hour, more than private sector staff.
TUC general secretary Frances O’Grady said: “Not only do public sector workers now earn less than staff in the private sector, they also face greater job insecurity as hundreds of ­thousands are set to go in the coming years.”

Yes, Frances O'Grady seems to believe that 15% more or in certain instances 35% more actually means that the public sector workers are being paid less. One wonders what her school report card said for maths, probably something along the lines of 'could do a lot better' or somesuch.
Whilst there are some areas in which we need a public sector, you do have to wonder why we need one quite so large (although the EU has something to do with it) still it sucks the taxes from the areas which make a profit and distributes it to those who do not and in some cases are not good value for money.
Politicians often talk about pruning public sector spending, I maintain that taking a chainsaw to it (particular middle and higher management) would be the preferred option as they seem to be costing us an awful lot in order to see we get value for money.
Still it is interesting to see the leftard spin on getting paid less whilst actually being paid more.

The Green Party in Brighton have come up with a wizard proposal to help criminals reintegrate into society once they are released form prison. They believe that having committed a serious crime that leads to a prison sentence should not be grounds for eviction from a council house...

COUNCIL chiefs have provoked fury with a “crackpot” proposal to save convicts’ council homes until they get out of prison.
Criminals would be allowed to walk straight back into their state-funded council house after serving their sentences, under plans from Brighton councillors.
They hope the controversial move will help offenders to “reintegrate” back into society, although they admit it could make the seaside town a “preferred destination” for villains.
Details of the Green-run council’s plan have angered campaigners at a time when there are thousands of hard-working families on Brighton’s council house waiting list.

It's pretty much a classic leftard move as evinced by the socialist movement in the UK where the rights of the criminal are always put ahead of the victim or in this case people in Brighton who have committed no crimes and are on the waiting list for a property.
I don't know what it is about politicians and the legal systems pandering to criminals, perhaps it's a case of like sticking to like. All I know is that it's causing people to switch off from politics if they don't move away from mainstream parties.
In a decent society you'd want to make sure crime does not pay, does anyone think we live in a decent society any more?
No we live in a society where the political classes are thieves and rogues, where the judiciary will twist the law to make sure the victims get no justice and where the indigenous populations rights are stripped away in favour of those who have come from elsewhere.
And then they wonder why people get angry and people will not engage with the system...

CLIMATE change sceptics in the Cabinet should be sacked to show the Government is serious about tackling extreme weather events such as the recent flooding, the Greens said today.
Green Party leader Natalie Bennett singled out Environment Secretary Owen Paterson, Chancellor George Osborne and Local Government Secretary Eric Pickles as prime contenders for David Cameron's axe.
Her comments, which have been branded "quasi-fascist" by opponents, came as the Party announced a 10-point plan to improve the UK's flood resilience.
Other proposals include an end to the "revolving door between the fossil fuel industry and government" and a demand the Government pays more attention "to advice from the Met Office and the Climate Change Committee that climate change will lead to even more such events in the future."
Ms Bennett explained to Express Online it was time politicians pulled in the same direction.
She said: "In terms of the consensus, 97 per cent of climate change scientists are in agreement about man-made climate change.

Lots of people believe in climate change, but and it's a big but, not that many of us other than enviroloons and politicians with snouts in the birdmincer trough actually believe in man made climate change especially since the complete and utter failure the of the computer models designed to show it along with the evidence that they faked the results and rounded up the results to try and prove their case.
Having like socialists having their 'perfect' world ridiculed and proven to be a pipe dream, the Greens have reverted to another trick of socialism, if there is no opposition then we can do things our way.
So calls are being made to rid the politicians of heretics non believers in a call similar to the occasional purge in the Soviet Union, China, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea etc. Pretty standard stuff in its days and shows the Greens in their true colour, red to the core.
