Taking the mickey

Some people will sue at the drop of a hat over injury or insult, real or imagined. Sometimes though it's very much self inflicted when it comes to facing mockery.

Daily Mail.
Muslim PC sues after workmates 'laughed at his beard'
A Muslim police officer claims he was forced out of his job by colleagues who made fun of his beard and called him a 'f***ing Paki'.
PC Javid Iqbal, 38, said white officers openly discussed in front of him how they were ' better' than their ethnic-minority colleagues.
The married father of two also claims officers pulled faces at each other if told they had to go out on patrol with him and forced him to walk home from a job instead of picking him up.

Mr Iqbal, who was born and raised in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, told the Daily Mail: 'My beard is an important part of my identity which helps other Muslims relate to me.

Now I don't know about the truth of the other allegations, but if you're going to go about looking like this at most places of work then you deserve everything you get.
You should see his wife's beard.
I'm sorry Mr Iqbal, but really, religious reasons or not, with that beard you look like a bit of a tit and whilst it may have been cruel, you're the one who chose to grow the beard and stand out from the rest of your colleagues. People will often make fun of anyone who chooses to be different, most shrug it off as a bit of fun, but not so much when it comes down to the "religion of the perpetually offended"
Still I'm sure you'll get the money, which I figure in the end is far more important to you than simply getting on with the job.

Well they want to make the most of it while they can.
Once the next round of "Staged events" in "Retaliation for the death of Osama" kick off in US and Europe, used as a pretext to invade Pakistan. The tide of public opinion will have the likes of him being lynched in the streets.

Sorry, quiet man, but I think your comments are sick and ill informed. Have you nothing better to do ?

precisely in what way are his comments "Sick and ill informed"? QM is right on the money. How old is this Javid guy like 5? I can see him now sat at the back of the class going "Sir, sir, they're sniggering and calling me names sir", like a spoiled child.

Religion is a voluntary thing, and if people obey their chosen religion and find that others are laughing at them, that's their own problem. There have been many Christian martyrs in the past because of their beliefs, Jehovah's Witnesses are prepared to die for their beliefs on the subject of blood transfusions, if this man suffers because of his belief it is his decision and no-one else's. But whilst many Muslims have beards, others don't, so it can hardly be called a religious requirement.

Far from your comment being sick and ill informed, I think you were overly cautious....

I can't believe that anyone these days would openly speak their minds/criticise a 'minority' - even in a room without an ethnic/gay in it - for fear of being reported on and sacked.

These f*ckers will get what they deserve and it will be coming to them soon. We've had enough!
