Are they mad?

Ok, Osama bin Laden was attacked and killed in a million dollar mansion in one of the nicer parts of Islamabad.*
I can sort of live with that, even if Pakistan is supposedly a sovereign country and the people doing the attacking were U.S. special forces. After all someone fairly high up in the Pakistani government and their security services must have been complicit in allowing him to remain there, unless he was a complete hermit in that time complete with supposed kidney failure then I cannot believe that someone there did not know.
But they killed him and then buried him at sea?
Can you see conspiracy theorists sprouting from the internet faster than you can say photoshopped? because I certainly can. OK I accept that any grave-site would instantly become some sort of shrine to the daft bastards who believe the only good non Islamist is a dead non Islamist, but they didn't have to bury him in an Islamic country, somewhere in Area 51 would have done just fine alongside all those aliens who keep visiting.
But now there's no body, no proof other than the words of the soldiers and some photographs. Have they forgotten that some people are convinced Elvis is still alive? I can almost promise you that OBL will be spotted any time soon working down the local chipshop wearing an Elvis wig. (or something like that) After all, his followers are convinced we're all liars anyway and under the control of Zionists and look there's no body so at best we killed one of his numerous body doubles!
Then again perhaps he's not dead just enjoying a bit of waterboarding in Guantanamo...

Can anyone else see the sort of problem we're now going to face?

No, it's not a problem.

If OBL wants to prove he's alive, then bring it on.

All he needs to do is appear on video referring to some news item that happened after his death. The score in the 2011 FA Cup Final... or the level at which the Dow closes on 3rd May 2011... or the results of the 2011 Turkish Grand Prix... anything at all. Even the British AV referendum.

What's that, Osama? *crickets*? Guess you must be dead, then.

I do enjoy a good conspiracy theory, but even I can't find one here that is in any way plausible.
If someone falsely claimed that they had killed me, I'd wait a few days and then produce a video of myself which I'd circulate by all means possible. (Although contra-conspiracy theorist could claim it has been Photoshopped!)
We may think the Americans are stupid, but I don't think they are stupid enough to risk bin Laden popping up on Arabic TV within the next few days!

WOHA there!

A bit confussed here, you mean Al-ky Ida, or the conspiracy theorists think this?

Because from most of the tin foil hatters I have read/spoken to, the description of the way "they" think, could POSSIBLY fit THEM better.

It's a pity that the Americans are being so coy about releasing photographs of bin Laden's corpse, but then again, I think that this has probably happened for the same reason that they chose to give him an 'appropriate' Islamic burial i.e. they are once again deferring to Muslim sentiment upon Obama's orders. Presumably the reckoning is that showing images of bin Laden's bloodied body would simply incur more outpourings of Muslim wrath. All of this peaceful compassion being displayed by Muslims around the globe really is getting a touch wearing, is it not?

They probably remember the fuss caused when they did so with Sadam Hussain.
