Just stop it!

I was out shopping today and couldn't help noticing the tabloid headlines.

Herr we go, again = The Sun
Jermania, now it's er Germany = The Mirror
JOB DONE NOW FOR THE HUN = Daily Star

Dear Lord, the puns are bad enough but the jingoism is embarrassing. No wonder certain people hate England, it's borderline racist and seriously wrong. England put in a reasonable performance against a rather poor Slovenian side and the gutter press are bigging it up as if it was a classic. Germany are a totally different kettle of fish and one of the better looking sides in the competition which has had a good few non performers go out (Yes we're looking at you France) as well as the odd upset (Hello Italy). I'm not saying England will lose and go out, but, the tabloids are making it seem as if this will be easy, it wont, matches against Germany seldom are and I doubt we'll manage a 5:1 thrashing this time.
The insults against the Germans are not helping and quite frankly a disgrace and make the English look like a bunch of racist idiots, despite it being the British press. No wonder "Anyone but England" becomes a way of life for some people.
With friends like the tabloids, the English are accumulating enemies we don't really need.

You shouldn't judge the English by the tabloids Conan, anymore than I judge the Scots by the comments in the Scotsman.

Of course QM, I don't.
If it wasn't for the the English, sorry, British MSM (The Scotsman is JP, perhaps a notch down from the Murdoch Volkischer Beobachters) and the headlines you have just written about, along with biased English football commentators(Jimmy Hill comes to mind); then Scots may...support England.

Of course Hell would have to freeze over too...

Have you seen any headlines in the rest of the world cup countries?

I'm sure they're just as bad, particularly their version of the tabloids. However this is about England and how a section of our media presents the country to the rest of the world and frankly it's not a pretty picture.

I don't know that there is anything as low as the british tabloids anywhere... and let's face it north or south of the Border, the tabloids leave aren't any different at all.

You can guarantee that the Star will always lead on one of about half a dozen topics, no matter what elose is going on in the world: Jordan and Pete/ whatever he's called that likes dressingup in women's clothes; Big Brother; Strictly; Ashely Cole and back to Jordan again.

The Sun rants about morals and then pictures clearly just over 18 models, half dressed in what might be school uniform. NotW also pontificates about all types of moality and advertises chat lines offering any kind of sexual titillation.

The Daily Mail just hates everything... absolutely everything, and the Express is written by madmen who think that we're still interested in Princess Diana, norw that we have the lovely Countess Mrs Parker Bowles to ogle....

They all hate foreigners and as you say QM, their headlines where the Germans are concerned indicate that they haven't yet heard that the war is over.

I wish you guys luck in the coup du monde, (now that my beloved France est partie) although I've always said I want an underdog to win, but I wish it would hurry up and be over before any more embarrassing rubbish is spouted by these awful papers.

In Germany, yes. And considering this post is the first time I even KNEW Germany were playing England, it is some kind of indication of how it has been handled.

Damn English scum...media.

Any way, who, that has an I.Q higher than their (British) shoe size, gives a FUCK about a stupid bloody game?

Exactly

Hence my article voicing similar sentiments.

I don't want a part of this sort of mass hysterical, quasi racist, arrogant obnoxiousness.
